In our salons we use our own brand of hair extensions, which are the best Keratin wax hair extensions on the market. The extensions are made of 100% Eastern European human hair, they best match your own hair in terms of hair type (structure & look).
We heat and roll up the wax bonds very small and finely. The big advantage is that the hair extensions are applied strand by strand in a very precise, invisible, customized manner (volume treatment and/or extension) and without damage to the hair itself.

Not every type of hair is suitable, if your hair is straight to the touch then it is a match! Hair extensions by Char works with keratin wax hair extensions, sourced from Eastern Europe and made from 100% human hair. We have this hair in the "natural straight" style, in 23 natural hair colors. If you are unsure whether your hair is suitable, please send us a photo. We are happy to advise you.
No, when keratin wax hair extensions are used and removed correctly, they are not harmful to your hair. The attachments of the hair extensions are heated with special mounting tongs to a temperature of a maximum of 140 degrees. We carefully roll up the wax bonds.
In addition, it is important that you take good care of the hair extensions during the wearing time (maximum 4 months). We will give you extensive advice about this in the salon.
Unfortunately not. Consultations and the installation of hair extensions is only possible by appointment. Due to scheduling, same-day appointments usually are not available The treatment takes about 2.5 hours (shorter or longer, depending on the number of extensions that are being placed). The costs depend on your wishes, the number of pieces depends on how much volume and/or extra length, you want. On our website we have a handy hair extension calculator that helps you estimate the desired amount. Also see the overview of prices .
Our salon in Amsterdam is located in the center, at Haarlemmerweg 519.
Our Salon in The Hague is located in the center at Molenstraat 32.

The keratin wax hair extension tufts are only replaced during the wearing time if tufts have come loose. So keep these tufts well and plan for approximately half of the wearing time (schedule your free, included service appointment after about 1.5 months).
After the wearing time (on average 3.5 months) you can choose "remove only" or "remove + install new set".
We choose not to replace/reuse the tufts after removal because this greatly reduces wearing comfort. This is because we have to work with loose wax bonds, which are thicker and less beautiful than the bonds that are attached to the new tufts.
We are a N\O Creative Haircare brand salon, the 100% natural VEGAN hair care brand for boutique salons. We sell the products in our salons and on the webshop.
It is important that you only use products during the wear time that DO NOT contain parabens, silicones, sulphates, heavy chemicals and oils. NEVER use oil on the wax bonds, only in the lengths and ends. The unions cannot cope with this and will slip.
Never use direct heat on the wax bonds, and do not stand on the bonds with a heat tool such as a hair straightener or curling iron. This will cause the wax to melt again.
Brush thoroughly, do not forget the wax bonds, go over the bonds with a suitable brush for hair extensions (available in our salons and in the webshop), only then will you prevent tangles.

Certainly, this is possible if you have lost loose strands during the wearing time or would like to have some more strands added.
In length up to 40cm it costs €4.90 per tuft.
In lengths >40 to 60cm it costs €5.75 per tuft.
We only remove our own keratin wax hair extensions (if otherwise agreed).
We use two rates for this, a rate for "removal only" and a rate for "removal + a new set".
If you choose "removal only", removal costs €0.90 per strand.
If you choose "removal + new set", removal costs €0.75 per strand and you also pay the costs for the new set.
We do not recommend hair extensions to potential customers whose own hair is extremely porous and brittle, for example due to frequent hair bleaching. We also advise against it if your own hair is so thin that the scalp is visible. In that case, the tufts will be too visible and this will not produce a nice result.
In some cases, hair extensions do not fit within the potential customer's lifestyle. Consider, for example, professional athletes such as swimmers or skaters. Or when one has a profession that requires the hair to be tied tightly every day and a headgear to be worn.
In addition, it is important to realize that there is a little more care required for the hair when you wear hair extensions than when you do not wear extensions.

No, we only place our own keratin hair extensions from our own label: Hair Extensions by Char.
It is not possible for us to bring hair extensions from another brand and have them placed and/or removed by us.

In most cases, we can apply hair extensions. For thin hair, we take special care to ensure they are discreetly placed and are not visible. Occasionally, if your natural hair is too thin, achieving an optimal result may not be possible. At Hair Extensions by Char, our hairstylists always provide sincere and honest advice. If you have any concerns, please send us a photo so we can assess and discuss the best options with you.
The keratin wax extensions we use are the best on the market, from Eastern Europe and 100% human hair. With this hair you can do (almost) everything you do with your own hair, curl/straighten/dye (do not bleach, just the same shade or darker). We recommend that you determine the color in the salon together with the hairstylist. If you dye your own hair, we recommend this prior to the appointment. Please note: there must be at least 1.5 weeks between the last coloring and the treatment with us.
Yes, that's possible, provided your hair reaches at least over your ears. We use 15 cm as the minimum length. It is also important that there are no shorter layers in your hair. The top layers of the hair should "hide" the wax bonds. If you have any doubts, please send us a photo of your hair in daylight, we will be happy to advise you.
Yes, that's possible. Keratin wax is not harmful to you or your growing baby. Keep in mind that your hormones during pregnancy can influence your hair and therefore the wearing time of the hair extensions. It can cause you to have more hair loss, or to retain more hair, causing you to have more hair loss after pregnancy.
